Darryl Seelhorst is a con artist that ran a Ponzi Scheme that bilked investors out of millions of dollars. He is currently under investigation by the FBI, SEC and the Alabama Department of Securities.
Darryl lived in Fairhope Alabama and is currently believed to be living in Perdido Florida in a luxury Penthouse Condo paid for by the investors that he robbed. He is a defendant in a law suit filed by Gil Gilmore of Alabama regarding his Ponzi scheme. The list of plaintiffs is very long and includes friends ands family. If you know or meet Darryl, you have to understand that he is a thief and will rob you blind given the opportunity. His claims for his defunct fund, Point Clear Capitol Partners, were that he made incredible returns investing in the S&P index fund. He told investors that their money was safe, in cash every day, and only 25% of the fund was ever at risk at any given time. Investors were encouraged to reinvest earnings with the statement "compounding baby, that's the way to go". He told friends and family that there was no way he could lose their money all the while living the lavish life style just like Bernie Maidhoff.
The FBI has seized the remaining balance of his Interactive Broker account to distribute to his investors, while the Alabama Department of Securities is putting together a case to eventually arrest Darryl and charge him with financial crimes. The SEC is making sure Darryl never trades securities again.
Another part of his scheme was to say that the SEC required two entities, an accounting firm and a law firm to watch over Darryls shoulder to make sure he did not steal the investors funds. He would state "they will call me if I take out $35 to buy office supplies. This was obviously not true and shows to what end Darryl will lie to get other peoples money.
